Hey guys… been a little bit since I’ve posted.  I’ve been keeping pretty busy out here in Seattle.  I’m still going to be out here another week and a half or so.  Things have been pretty eventful.

I’ve managed to get about 10k hands in so far this month.  That’s not an outstanding total, but it’s ok.  It’s a lot more than I played in the last 6-8 weeks, so I’m happy with it.   I feel like my poker playing is on the upswing.  I think with each passing week I’ll start getting more and more hands in.  This is becoming more and more of a big deal to me because I’m start to realize that the life goal of eventually owning my house is pretty exciting and something I REALLY want to happen.  I’m starting to get to a point in my life where I want to find a place to put down some roots.  I’ve spent the last 3 years or so moving all over the nation and the idea of setting up shop somewhere is pretty exciting.  So… what better way to do that than to own a house? And by that I don’t mean owning a debt that is over-paying for a house.  I’ve always maintained that I won’t take out a huge mortgage in order to get a house(unless the real estate market is down such that I can get a steal and I can put at least half down to begin with).  It’s just a waste of money, imo, to take out a huge mortgage.  So, I have to just keep grinding and get the roll put together to buy it with cash.  I think that’s something I could manage in the next 5 years or so.  However, if I really dig in and start kicking some ass at poker I should be able to get it done sooner than that.  Read the rest of this entry »

Hey guys… well I’m out of Indiana and spending some time in Seattle again.  Things are going really well for me lately.  Can’t complain.

I played a little bit of poker last week and won like 5BI in about 3k hands(flopping the nuts makes this game way easy).  My birthday was this past weekend so I kept pretty busy hanging out with friends and what have you.  I have probably like 10 people come over to the poker house and it was just an awesome time.  Everybody was super cool and everyone I’ve spoken to after the party said they just had a great time.  I have to admit that I am really fortunate dude in that I have a lot of really cool and really awesome friends.

I spent the next few days after the party to hang out with friends and family.  I am staying in Seattle for a few weeks so I wanted to make sure I hung out with people while I still could.

I plan to keep really busy over the next few weeks.  I’m working on putting together several videos for DeucesCracked.com and getting a lot of poker in.  I about have my first video done which I am told should be out next Thursday (4-8).  I still totally plan to get more into coaching and more involved with DC.

I’ll do my best to keep you posted about my time here.

An article I wrote recently(yes, that’s right… a brand spanking new one that doesn’t even appear on threads13.com! oh snap!) is in the March 2010 issue of Bluff Magazine.  It’s an article talking about balancing (what it is, when to use it, and a specific example with some math).  I think it’s a pretty interesting read and it looks pretty sick in the magazine.  Definitely check it out!

So tonight I get to take the red eye back home(woooo freakin’ hoo).  It’s been a pretty awesome week and a half for me to say the least.  I’ve been out in Seattle visiting a friend.  During this time I haven’t really done much poker playing as a general game plan.  It’s been a time to really just let go about thinking about the game so that I can recharge and just enjoy my time out here(which I’ve most certainly done).  Most of my poker time over the time here has been spent on doing some videos for Deuces Cracked.  I’ve been a part of quite a few of the videos of the FR Squadron series.  It’s been a lot of fun to get to work with other coaches.  Read the rest of this entry »

Word on the street is that I have an article is this month’s (March ‘10) issue of Bluff Magazine.  Unfortunately I am outta town and can’t check into this.  I’m sure it’s probably true, but this also works as a cheap ploy to get people to go out and check out the magazine (do ploys still work if you tell the ploy-ee of it’s existence?) .

If you’ve been following the house blog then you know that I’ve been on a break from poker.  I have been doing just a little bit of coaching, but I feel like I’m about to get back into the game again.  I’ve been pretty damn bored with the game this year, but over the last few days I am getting progressively more and more excited to play.

I’ll chime back in with more later.  As of right now I’m walking out the door.
